THIS IS A VERY SIMPLE TRICK. NO SOFTWARE REQUIRED.
1. Type “about:config” into the address bar and hit enter. Scroll down and look for the following entries:
2. Alter the entries as follows:
Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"
Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"
set “network.http.pipelining.maxrequests” to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once.
3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer.
Name it “nglayout.initialpaint.delay” and set its value to “0”. This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on the information it receives.
NOTE: This trick only works for broadband users, not for dialup.

yes this does work (perhaps not 10x but certainly there is a difference to be seen)
thanks comrade!
keep hacking!
So all of you know, this pipelining ‘hack’ can BREAK many sites. Server admins can BAN you for using this as it increases the load to their servers and does not always work the way it should. If you do use this please, PLEASE use a significantly lower number than 30 and if you don’t mind? please don’t use it at all.
works…
darkfrye, you worry too much, for nothing!
If the server cannot handle it, either upgrade it and catch up with the times, or get the server off the network!
If you need 30 connections to open websites faster, then maybe you should catch up and stop using crappy ISP’s 😀
Go read the reference page for network.http.pipelining.maxrequests. Possible values are 1 through 8 inclusive. A more appropriate setting to change — for those of you with fast connections — would be network.http.max-connections which will accept values from 1 to 65535 and (potentially) open that many HTTP connections simultaneously.
If your website requires 30 connections to load into a browser, then maybe it has too much s#it on it and needs to be redesigned.
DarkFyre- I set the number to significantly higher than 30. 1000 to be exact. Same with Max-Connections.
Thanks all for commenting on my blog…
Well you should worry a little…
I have been using this trick for a long time now.. and haven’t yet faced any problems with any site on the net at all….
I am a hardcore surfer and uses my computer for over 8 hours a day.. with my Internet running all da time…

anyone know if this will speed up streaming video or just page load times?
What mike said works really well also.
Thanks, Fantastic hack
Wow. This really works!
Can I make the internet even faster if I make the number more than 30?
I screwed it up. If I download the new version of Mozilla Firefox coming up (3.5), will it all reset to normal?

So if you update ur firefox u wont need to do the trick again..

its just a simple one.. and just take 2-3 minutes…
for any further queries .. reply to me
So the about:config will completely reset to the normal settings when I install a new version of Firefox?
I want the whole about:config thing to go back to default. Like I want to make Firefox the way it was before I screwed up the stuff.
So is there a way to master reset, or when I download the new Firefox it will do that for me?
Basically I messed with random stuff and messed up and slowed down the browser. I need your help to restoring everything back to normal.
Hi Anonymous,
Yes, there is a way.
Uninstall Firefox, then reinstall.
Or you can view somebody else's about:config and copy.
Hope this helped!
Really awesome blog. I enjoyed reading review of "Make Mozilla Firefox 10x Faster!!!" etc. I found that you really update
your site regularly that made me more interesting. I've bookmarked your site for my future use.
Thank you
